II MODULE

The part II of the activities was held for the first group of participants of the program „Women for women- women's solidarity for change“

The Academy for Women has realized the second part of the education within the project "Women for Women - Women's Solidarity for Change„ from September 25 to 27, 2020 with the support of the European Endowment for Democracy (EED). Members of political subjects, women who are socially active in their communities, voters from all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina were part of the training in the second module "Media culture - how female politicians and voters in B&H can use the media." On the first day, before the beginning of the theoretical-practical lectures, a panel entitled what are we fighting for and against what- anti-fascism, ethno nationalism and activism - today was organized with the participation of: Kristina Ljevak, journalist and moderator; Larisa Šuša, activist; Ivana Marić, political analyst; Sead Turčalo, professor and Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences, and Dragan Markovina, historian and writer. Participants of the Women for Women program had the opportunity to hear personal stories, historical facts, sociological experiences, analyzes of current political affairs as well as concrete activities that can be undertaken - within the community and wider society - against the negative phenomena of fascism, ethno nationalism and extremism in our country and beyond.
During interactive lectures held on Saturday and Sunday and led by experts, the participants gained a lot of practical knowledge. Doc.dr.sc. Semina Ajvaz, Head of the Department of Communication at the Džemal Bijedić University in Mostar lectured on media appearance and policy, and aspects of political communication. She introduced the participants with the political image, communication, public relations - their applications and significance. Self-confidence - how to build and maintain it, the culture of speech and political communication skills in public speaking were among practical implementation of the gained knowledge, and there was also discussion on assertive behavior in communication and the importance of visual identity. Dalibor Tanić, Master of NLP, worked with the participants as well, showing them several techniques of Neuro-linguistic programming and its practical application, and one of the NLP techniques in particular -anchoring - for the preparation of a convincing public appearance. He also talked about the influence of the internal state prior to public event and about recognizing the patterns of certain behavior. Participants realized how the inner state is manifested through body language and voice dynamics. Zlatko Ganić, an expert in the field of digital media, shared with the participants the knowledge related to choosing the appropriate social network, the target group and using the potential of social networks in the political campaign. Alma Dautbegović - Voloder, a longtime journalist and Maja Gasal Vražalica, did a series of practical exercises on various types of public appearances.
Another aim has been achieved through this education. In addition to strongly connecting women of different age groups, who are active in various areas of public life, it was proven once more that media literacy of women, both those who are already active in political subjects and those who follow socio-political events and are active in their communities, is a necessary step for meaningful action through the self-conscious use of media space and all the opportunities that media appearances provide.
